FIND YOUR TRIBE -- Democracy vs.Capitalism

I wrote this post months ago, but just now decided to post the text regardless of the timing since the actual message is timely. I woke up this morning with a very scary thought. Usually, my morning thoughts are upbeat. Today, for some reason, I realized that the backbone of our recent U.S. economy has been largely based on Real Estate value. Thus the broken economy. All of our manufacturing and production jobs, the previous economic base, have been moved offshore where Corporations can operate without mainland restrictions or necessary federal tax requirements. Corporations now indirectly plunder the benefits of a comfortable infrastructure at home, and cheap abused labor abroad. When the Bush era began our nation had a huge surplus of wealth, and within the short period of eight years we found ourselves in two expensive wars, and a huge national debt in the trillions. How could this have happened, and realistically how are we to rebuild this country without industry and production? WE CAN'T!!! That is the tragic problem that I woke up to this morning. The idea of a world economy is impossible, and a pipe dream that has been sold to the American public by a cabal of greedy corporate mongrels (yes,I mean mongrels). America has been raped and its tax base compromised by devaluation. There isn't any more money in the common public sector. The money is concentrated at the top, and historically this is very serious, and the cause of great suffering and unrest. Are you ready? I'm ready spiritually, but on every other front I am not ready. Firstly, rather than complain I suggest that we should gather together, start to generate powerful communal spiritual power that leads to political sanity. The sanity will come from this strong spiritual grounding. Not religious dictum, but spiritual awakening in the greater sense. An awareness of the connectedness of all life, and our humble place on this ball of dirt would be a great starting point. We no longer have the power to be the consumers of the world. That place will go to China in the near future. We have great contributions to make to the greater good of the planet through technology, knowledge, our great repositories of knowledge (museums, libraries, etc), and a democratic model of governing. In a sense the democratic model is our product. The American Experiment has been successful. Not because of Capitalism, but because of its vast homogenized mix of cultures. Democracy and Capitalism are NOT synonymous. Capitalism is a separate issue, and others are now doing that better than us. Capitalism is soul-less by its very nature, and can operate in many climates. Community has always been the default solution for American culture. FIND YOUR TRIBE !!!
